Ronald Vincent Hunt (1999)
Served with Victoria Police 1949 to 1987
As a wrestler with the Victoria Police Amateur Boxing and Wrestling Club Ron's acheievements were outstanding. He was the undefeated Welter and Middle Weight Champion of Victoria Police for 27 years. He represented Victoria in the Australian Titles five times and in 1958, became the Australian 'Greeko Roman' wrestling champion of the Light Heavyweight division. In 1960 he represented Australia at the Rome Olympics in Greeko Roman and Freestyle wrestling.
Ron was a Victorian and Australian wrestling judge and referee. For a period of 3 years he was the 'Mat Chairman' in charge of all judges and referees in Australia.
Ron is the Past Vice President and Life Member of the Victoria Police Amateur Boxing and Wrestling Club.
Ron was inducted into the Victoria Police Sporting Hall of Fame in 1999.
