Amanda Hardy (2007)

Joined Victoria Police in 1997 and still serving at the time of induction, 2007.

Amanda won the singles event in the 1985 Victorian Schoolgirls badminton championship and went on to represent Australia for the next 15 years.

She won 12 international titles and 60 state and local titles specializing in ladies and mixed doubles events. In 1996 she achieved a career high ranking of No. 5 in the world in Mixed Doubles.

Amanda represented Australia at the 1994 Commonwealth Games held in Victoria, Canada winning a Bronze medal, and then won another Bronze medal four years later at the 1998 Commonwealth Games held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Amanda also competed at the 1996 Atlanta, USA Olympic Games and the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games in the ladies and mixed doubles events.

 

Amanda was inducted into the Victoria Police Sporting Hall of Fame in 2007.
