Congratulations to the following 2013 Sports Award winners!

 ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP: Senior Constable Timothy Spiteri who recently completed a 3000 mile ocean crossing by rowing from the Canary Islands to Barbados.

 SPORTS OR WELFARE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR: Mr Chris Lewis (O H & S Consultant) for his outstanding organisational and administrative achievements for the Victoria Police Hockey Club since 2007.

 MOST OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL POLICE SPORTING OR WELFARE ACHIEVEMENT: Constable Manase Holani for his selection in the Australian team for the Australian Police Rugby Union Hong Kong Tour 2013.

 MOST IMPROVED POLICE TEAM OF THE YEAR (new award): The Victoria Police Netball Club’s ‘Blue Team’ won their first sporting award by implementing new strategies which resulted in outstanding success and winning a Grand Final.

 MOST OUTSTANDING POLICE CLUB OF THE YEAR: The Victoria Police Soccer Club had their ‘best year ever’ by achieving great success in the areas of international competition; good will and multiculturalism; indigenous relations and charity.

 SPORTING HALL OF FAME: Sergeant Deanne Butler represented Australia with the Australia Opals National Basketball team and was the first Australian Policewoman to play in European competition. Her contribution to Australian Women’s basketball has been most outstanding.
